I was a diamond that glistened in your gaze, through broken shells and sand.

You picked me up, and there I was, desirable in your hand.

But you had no sense of value...

and placed me in a broken chest to where I was hidden beneath cheap coins, and wanna be rubies.

I was a beautiful jewel for you to treasure, but you were not man enough to reach for the diamond through the fools gold.

Once a treasure, is now a diamond that would rather be dust than be held by you.
